06//05 Som-Tum & Kai Yang as I promised. But first I just want to mention about a message in our guestbook. Hehehe I didn't mad or anything. I know that my English is not good. I just want to share real life in Thailand for people who visit our website and also be my diary too. Non-profit website!!! If any body want to help me proof or correct my diary I appreciate that. Anyway, I think my English is not that bad. people understand what i mean. I just can't explain it fancy like I could explain in Thai (but if I do write in Thai this diary will make no sense at all. Talk about Thailand and only Thais could understand)

OK....Let's start now. Last week me and my friends had lunch together. I wanted to eat Som-Tum & Kai-Yang. I miss Kai-Yang taste!! hehehe

I pick my friends up and drove to an open-air restaurent. I'm not sure if I could called it restaurent. Because it not luxury but it taste really good YUMMY. People know that restaurent as "Som-Tum Kai Krob"....Som-Tum = papaya salad, Kai = chicken, Krob = crispy. Som-Tum and Kai Yang is Thai North -East food (E-San food) The popular dish is papaya salad and crispy chicken (crispy only on chicken skin). It's located near Bangkok Bank, Ladkrabang branch. Not too far from my university (KMITL) and new airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport).

Som-Tum (Papaya Salad)

We mix unripe papaya (cut it in long and narrow shape) lamon, sugar, fish sauce, dry shrimp, tomatoes and fried peanut. You can also put small salty crab too. hmmm Yummy


Labb Moo (Spicy Mince Pork)

I made it twice when I was in Norway. change from pork to chicken. This dish is also good to have when you drink. hehe Its spicy sour and salty taste and not a heavy food.


Tubb-Wann (Spicy Liver)

Hehe...I don't know how to called this food in English. It made from pork's liver. The liver have sweet taste when it not too cook (Tubb = liver, Wann = sweet) Then they make it almost like Labb Moo just change from pork to liver.


Side sald
We eat mint (Ho-Ra-Pa), aquatic mornint (Pak Boong),
cabbage (Ka-Lumn-Plee)and Vigna Sinensis (Towa-Fak-Yaw)
together with those spicy food


The last one....Khao Neaw (sticky rice)

Use your bare hand (normally only 2-3 fingers) pick sticky rice. No need to fork or spoon. Eat it with all the food above. The container in the picture we called Ka-Tibb. It made from babboo.

Sorry that I don't have close-up picture of Kai Yang. It too good so we finished it too fast. haha no time for picture!!

P.S. Mom I know that you just got my letter :) I hope you and dad like it. hehe Steffen told me that you like the word "Daughter-in-law" hehe I do too.

P.S. I had a problem with cockroach. I was about to hang my clothes after I washed them. There was a cockroach outside my balcany!!! I really really hate and scare of cockroach. I scream like hell. My neighborhood might think somebody been hurt. I don't dare to kill it either. Norway is like my heaven....no cockroach, no mosquito, no ant, no spider. Maybe it's too cold for them.
